Wemli
Privacy Policy
This notice describes Wemli's travel-film editor and on-device journey board on iPhone: the projects and media you create, the permissions you choose, map requests and measurement that starts with the app.
1. Projects and creative media
Journey titles, stops, route coordinates, photo captions and timing, themes and export settings are saved in the app's private storage. The journey board separately saves short drafts and its appearance preference. Selected or captured photos, imported music, recorded narration and rendered films are also kept on the device. The editor does not automatically upload these creative files or offer a project-sync service.
Selected photos may supply capture dates and location coordinates for route construction. Wemli saves resized image pixels without embedded GPS metadata; the location used in a journey is retained in that project's record. System backups and copies that you save elsewhere are governed by your device and destination settings.
2. Permissions you choose
- Camera: Capture requests access when you choose to take a travel photo.
- Microphone: narration requests access when you start recording. Recording stops when the app leaves the foreground.
- Travel days: reads the photo-library items you allow within the selected date range, including capture dates and available locations. Selected-photo access works; the system may download an original stored in iCloud.
- Add photos: Apple's system picker supplies only the images you choose for that action.
- Save to Photos: requests add-only access to save a completed film, without using that permission to browse the photo library.
These media permissions are requested from their corresponding tools. Declining one leaves other editing paths available. You can review camera, microphone and photo access in iOS Settings.
3. Map requests
Apple Maps supplies map tiles, map snapshots, place search, and driving or walking directions. Those requests send the coordinates or search text needed for the selected map feature under Apple Maps' privacy terms; they do not send your creative media.
When a road-routing service is configured, Wemli asks before sending a driving leg's stop coordinates to that service. This optional OpenStreetMap-based calculation does not send photos, music or narration. The returned route is kept with the journey and credited to OpenStreetMap contributors. If it fails, your existing route is retained.
4. Adjust and tracking authorization
Adjust starts when the app launches for installation attribution and session measurement. It processes app, device and operating-system information and installation identifiers, including an app-scoped installation identifier and identifiers supported by the SDK, such as IDFV. These measurements do not contain your journey photographs, imported music, narration or rendered films.
Access to IDFA and tracking that requires authorization follow your iOS tracking choice. Declining tracking leaves the editing tools available and does not disable all measurement: installation and session measurement that does not require that authorization may continue. Review your choice in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security, Tracking. Adjust's privacy statement describes the provider's processing and retention; deleting local projects does not delete information already held by that provider.
5. Export and sharing
Films are rendered on this device. Save to Photos adds the result to your own photo library; Share your film or Share GPX hands the selected file to the destination you choose. The receiving app or service handles that copy under its own practices. Hide first & last stops removes those stops, their connecting legs and attached photographs from the film; it does not edit spoken narration, so review the result before sharing.
6. Keeping and deleting data
Project records, imported media and rendered films remain in private app storage until the relevant deletion action or removal of the app. Delete draft removes the journey's project entry; imported media can remain in app storage. Delete film removes that rendered file and its library entry. Temporary render files are removed when rendering finishes or is cancelled.
Removing the app removes its private project, media and film storage. It does not remove films already saved to Photos or Files, files sent to another destination, or copies retained in backups. Installation identifiers kept by the system and measurement records held by a provider are separate from those creative files; app removal does not promise to erase all such records.
7. Use and changes
The editing and journey-board tools do not require an account or an in-app purchase. Use the tools and any chosen sharing destinations in accordance with their applicable requirements. If these tools' data practices change, this notice will be updated with the corresponding revision date.
8. Contact
For a question about these tools or their data, write to team@wewemli.com. Include Wemli, your app version and a description of the request. Do not send private photos or recordings unless needed and agreed for support.
