Wemli
Terms of Use
These terms describe Wemli's travel-film editor and on-device journey board on iPhone. By downloading or using Wemli, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Your App Store terms still apply. Wemli is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions and the standard licensed-application terms govern your download and use of the app. Where those terms apply, they take precedence over anything here that conflicts with them.
1. What Wemli is
Wemli is a travel film studio that runs on your device. You create a journey, give it stops on a map or import a recorded track, attach photos or capture new ones, choose a look and pace, optionally record narration and pick music, then preview and export a finished film as a locally rendered H.264 MP4 file that you can save to Photos or share.
Wemli is a creative tool, not a navigation, safety, surveying or emergency service. It is not a substitute for your own judgement about where you travel or how you get there.
2. Licence and permitted use
- You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms and by applicable law.
- You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, redistribute or republish the app itself, or attempt to extract its source code or embedded assets, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
- You may not use Wemli to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, or to interfere with the services the app relies on.
- The app is licensed, not sold. Rights not expressly granted here are reserved.
3. Journey-board drafts
The journey board saves short named drafts and its appearance preference on this device. You can rename a draft, cancel deletion or confirm removal, then return to the film studio. These tools do not require an account or an in-app purchase.
4. Your content stays yours
You keep all rights in the photos, tracks, audio, narration, journey details and films you create with Wemli. We claim no ownership over them and, because Wemli works on your device, we do not receive a copy through local editing or export.
You are responsible for having the rights you need in whatever you bring into the app — including photographs, recorded tracks, and any music or audio you import — and for how you use and share the results. Only use material you own or are permitted to use.
5. Device storage and your own backups
- Your drafts, media and films are stored in the app's private area on your device. They are not synced to a server, and Wemli does not provide cloud backup or a sync service.
- Deleting a journey removes its project entry; imported media may remain in app storage. Deleting a film removes that rendered file. Removing the app removes its private creative files, but not copies saved to Photos, Files, sharing destinations or backups.
- Your device backup settings are controlled by you through Apple's backup features. Please keep your own copies of anything you cannot lose, for example by saving finished films to Photos or sharing them.
6. Maps, routing and other third-party services
Some features use services we do not control. Their availability, accuracy and terms are their own, and using those features means their terms apply.
Wemli also uses third-party measurement services — currently Adjust — for installation attribution and session measurement from launch. The Privacy Policy describes what those services process, the identifiers involved and how you control tracking permission. Accepting these terms, or continuing to use the app, is not consent to tracking under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework; that authorization is requested separately and can be changed at any time in iOS settings.

Wemli does not silently switch between routing providers, and it does not publish your content to any service on your behalf.
7. Illustrative features and accuracy
Rail, flight, sail and ride connections are illustrative unless you supply a recorded track for them. Route lines, distances and travel times are estimates produced from the data available; they can differ from reality, and hide-endpoints, imported-track and photo-date features depend on the data you provide. Do not rely on the app for navigation, routing decisions or safety.
8. Availability and changes
- The app is provided as it is at the version you install. Features that depend on the network may stop working when a provider changes or becomes unavailable.
- We may release updates that add, change or remove features, and may stop distributing the app. We are not obliged to provide updates, support or continued availability of any particular feature.
- You are responsible for installing a compatible version of the app on a supported device.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any render, export or save will succeed on every device or with every combination of media. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited where you live.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost or corrupted content, lost profits, or the cost of substitute services, arising out of or relating to your use of the app. This includes content lost because a draft or film was deleted, because the app was removed, because a device failed, or because a network service was unavailable. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app, or to the minimum permitted by applicable law if that is greater. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Ending use
You may stop using Wemli at any time and delete it from your device. These terms end when you do, except for the provisions that by their nature should survive, including sections 4, 9, 10 and 12. We may terminate this licence if you materially breach these terms.
12. Governing terms and contact
These terms are governed by the laws that apply at the place where the app's publisher is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and are subject to any mandatory consumer protections available where you live.
